마음대로 작성해서 보낸 리포트 !!

I have effectively communicated with individuals from diverse nationalities and cultures, allowing me to gain insights from various perspectives. Through my experience in business analysis, I've learned to approach situations with a Swiss perspective rather than a Korean one. Due to the nature of Switzerland and management major, there were many discussions and team projects. We have time to find the management of various nationality with various nationality. Although it was a short period, I felt that it was certainly not only studying English. Above all, I was able to set up my dream widely than now. There were many things I want to challenge in terms of my career. I just don't think it was good, but I'll use this experience to be better people.

I took part in six classes as part of the exchange student program. (Business Management, Consumer Science, and analytics, Leading yourself, Entrepreneurial finance, Marketing Principles, Microeconomic)

In Business management class, I can learn overall business environment. It was useful to learn various global cases, not just limited to the Switzerland industry. It was especially good to have access to the perspectives of professors and friends on Asian and Korean businesses seen in European countries. The team project was conducted under the theme of "PWC Governance Analysis." I made a 20-minute presentation. This was the most difficult part because most classes, including this class, strictly prohibit me from reading the script. But if I didn’t have presentation experience in Switzerland, I used to be apprehensive about English presentations, but this class has boosted my confidence in delivering them. I plan to leverage this newfound confidence in future presentations.

Also, I was able to set a wider career path through the Leading Yourself class. This class was a time to think about my strengths and visions and share thoughts with my friends. Korean friends often talk about this, but my Korean friends and I dream of a very similar career path. However, when I listened to my friends of different nationalities, I realized that my thinking was quite narrow before taking this class. The experience helped me define a more concrete career path and broaden my perspective. Initially, I had never considered working overseas because I was unaware of its advantages. However, through interactions with classmates in this program, I developed a dream of pursuing work opportunities abroad.

And I also participated Consumer Science and analytics class. At my home university, classes on consumer behavior and statistics were distinct and separate. I desired to study both subjects together, but unfortunately, there was no combined class available for these topics. Because my university is specialized at science and technology. But through this class, I can fulfill my deficiency of learning. One of the most captivating aspects was conducting surveys. I devised a survey plan, analyzed the gathered statistics with my friends from Switzerland, and derived meaningful results through statistical analysis.

In Entrepreneurial finance class, I learned about Venture Fund. First week, I worried about this class, because I don’t have any financial knowledge especially Venture Fund. But through this class, I gained many common senses in the financial field. We did also team project. We made a fake venture fund and made strategy to maximize our profit. So, we selected cultured-meat industry, targeting world-wide. Through this class, I could learn cultured meat industry trend and venture fund. Communicating with foreign friends is good experience for me.

In Marketing Principles class, I can learn many examples of marketing. I also heard Marketing Principles class in home university, but marketing example deals with on Korean example in my home university. The teacher tells me many examples not only Switzerland but also American, US and so on. Marketing’s teacher emphasized the indication of the source very much. Through this class, I can get habit of indication of the source.

In Microeconomic class, I learned principle of economic situation. In my home university, I hadn't attended an economics class before, making it challenging for me initially. However, I recognize the significance of economics across all industries. The insights gained were incredibly useful, and I plan to apply this knowledge in the future.

Not only classes, I participated in many kinds of activities that are held in school. Most memorable thing is traveling with my classmates. After class or weekends, We traveled city of Switzerland. I saw many things that couldn't be seen in Korea. Through this, I understand and learn Switzerland life. I think Switzerland’s transportation system is especially better than Korea. So, I want to apply efficiency of transportation system to my country. So, it was useful because I could see many things. Before this program, I thought my mind only in terms of Korean, Korea’s culture. But after this, I notice that board view is important.

Comparing before and after the exchange student program, the most significant changes occurred in the importance of language, my career, and my interest in foreign countries
I saw many friends come from various country. But most of my friends can speak 3 or 4 languages. But I use only 2 languages, English and Korean. When my friends talk to me, they use English, but when they meet other people, they turn their language fast and fluently depending on their country. I really envy them, and it was nice. In Korea, if we have English skills even though not well, it is good for our career. So, before this program, I didn’t know why I must learn other language except for English. I think most useful language in Korea is Japanese or Chinese. My goal is to learn Japanese and become proficient in speaking it. Therefore, I aspire to be proficient in three or four languages in the future. Also I realized that my English speaking skills were poor and I felt that I had to study hard from now on. English education in Korea is centered on reading and writing. So, speaking was more difficult than reading and writing. I felt the need for English speaking skills while communicating with my friends. I plan to study really hard from now on. Not only is it necessary to learn various things by communicating with people of various nationalities, but being good at English will be helpful for business.

The world is very wide. I also know this sentence, but I couldn’t agree this sentence. Because I didn’t experience global experience. World is so wide than I think. My habit is reading various article especially economy and political. But I didn’t read global article. Because I didn’t’ interested in global issue and don’t know why it is important than Korea issue. But I found that understanding global trend is good to make a good solution or competitive idea. I will be interested in the world's various situations and situations and think about how to introduce good examples from various countries to Korea.

Advice to future ASEM-DUO fellows : Before I come to Switzerland Geneva, I heard Switzerland’s money is expensive than Korea. If DUO-Korea don’t help to me, I can’t stay Geneva. But Helping with DUO – Korea, I learned many things. So, ASEM DUO is good opportunity for your exchange school life. And Many of the exchange students didn't seem to study very well. They focused on hanging out with friends or traveling. I agree with their style. But through classes, I could learn business knowledge. I recommend you also participate in classes actively. And it would be nice to learn French. This is because most people speak French in Geneva. Also, I want you to think of gratitude every time. This experience was possible because of the help of many people. Thank you very much for helping me achieve good studies in a good environment. I will become a wonderful person and give back to society.
